High return, fully transparent.
up to82%
*Total-return basis. Actual 81.6% (¥600k rate, 6th yr); year one from 75.8%.
We don't hide the rate. It starts at 65% and rises +1% every year, automatically and regardless of reviews, reaching 70% in year six. It never goes down. The whole formula is on this page.
Where 100% of project billing goes, including the company's share.
Here's where your rate goes.
What lands on your payslip is 65–70% of your rate. Counting what the company also pays in for you (insurance, workers' comp, commute), it's 76–82%. The rest is the company's cut.
Estimated annual gross: 0 ×10k yen。Total returned to you: 75.7%。Company share: 24.3%。
We open up everything inside that 82%.
Salary, insurance, workers' comp, commute, down to the company's cut.
How much a company "returns" depends on what it counts. Most figures above 80% add the company's contributions on top of salary. Measured the way others measure, we're at 76–82%. And we'll show you every line of that math.
*"Up to 82%" rounds up an actual 81.6% (rate ¥600k, 6th year). Year one starts at 75.8%. Total return is what the company invests, not your take-home (income tax and the employee share of insurance come out of the payslip figure). Basis: under 40, Kyokai Kenpo Tokyo, FY2026 rates.

| Years | Payslip (what lands) | Total return (company invests) | Company's cut |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year 1 | 65% | 75.8% | 24.2% |
| Year 2 | 66% | 77.0% | 23.0% |
| Year 3 | 67% | 78.2% | 21.8% |
| Year 4 | 68% | 79.3% | 20.7% |
| Year 5 | 69% | 80.5% | 19.5% |
| Year 6+ | 70% | 81.6% | 18.4% |
Basis: ¥600k rate, under 40, Kyokai Kenpo Tokyo, FY2026 rates, standard-remuneration model. Individual figures move about ±1% with age, dependents and revisions; 40 and over adds long-term care insurance on the employer side. The calculator computes actual values from your input rate (since commute is a fixed amount, the total-return % dips slightly as the rate rises).
Year one is 65%, then +1% each year (capped at 70% in year six). Total return runs from 75.8% in year one up to 81.6%.
Payslip monthly = rate × payslip rate. Payslip rate = 65% in year one, +1%/yr (max 70%). Annual = monthly × 12. Total return = payslip + insurance + workers' comp + commute. Take-home is the payslip figure minus income tax and your share of insurance.
Example: ¥800k rate, year two (66% payslip) → about ¥530k/mo × 12 = about ¥6.36M/yr. Just one example, not an average or a guarantee.
With the company-leased housing program, the same pay leaves more in your hands.
Under the company-leased housing program, part of your rent is drawn from salary, which lowers your standard monthly remuneration. Your monthly social insurance drops, your taxable income falls too, so the same payslip leaves more in your pocket. We use the same model employee from the rate breakdown above (¥600k rate, year one, ¥390k salary).
That's the social-insurance gap alone. On top of it, lower taxable income also trims your income and resident tax.
Assumptions: same model as the rate breakdown above (¥600k rate, year one, ¥390k salary), ¥155k company-leased housing rent (you cover 50% of the rent equivalent, ¥77,500, drawn from salary), 35 sqm, under 40, Kyokai Kenpo Tokyo, FY2026 rates, standard-monthly-remuneration basis. Figures change with rent, salary and floor area.
Run the numbers for your own caseProjects, raises, and what comes next—answered upfront.
Your cut was already visible in that formula. Your projects, your raises, your future here. We answer those SES worries first, ourselves.
- Can you actually see your cut? The full formula is public.
- Do you get to choose your projects? Sales shows you first. You choose.
- Does staying actually raise anything? +1% per year, automatically (independent of reviews).
You choose the project.
Sales shows you the rate band and contract type first. You choose, and you can decline. Remote is on the table too.
One year of experience is enough.
Language, phase and school don't matter. Full flextime (160h/month). We cover commuting, tech books, meetups and equipment.
This isn't for everyone. Here's who it fits.
Long on-site stints. The responsibility of choosing your own projects. A design that favors take-home over hand-holding. If it doesn't fit, that's an important answer too.
Fits you if
- You want to choose and decide your own projects
- You want to build skill hands-on, in the field
- You want to verify your cut and terms in numbers
May not fit if
- You want in-house-only work over on-site
- You'd rather not own project choice
- You put hand-holding above everything
